The Netherlands Palliative Care Network for Terminally Ill Patients (NPTN) was established at the start of 1996 by some fifteen organizations, foundations and associations involved in palliative care for terminally ill patients. The organizations affiliated to the network, such as hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, homes for the elderly, home care and volunteer organizations, aim to contribute through collaboration to the further development of palliative care in the Netherlands. The NPTN also wishes to liaise between the government and other organizations working in the field.
European Association of Palliative Care
The EAPC primary goal is developing and disseminating palliative care at a scientific, clinical and social level, in Europe.
EAPC - East
The major aims of this EAPC project is to improve palliative care and coordinate activities in the Eastern European countries, and build a network of people and organisations interested in, as well as working with, palliative care in Eastern Europe.
ECEPT

ECEPT is a newly created international association meant to group palliative care professionals from Eastern and Central Europe, the people who take leading part in the field of caring for the terminally ill. ECEPT is based in Poznan, Poland which is one of the most important educational centres for palliative care in the whole region

Romanian National Association for Palliative Care
Hospice Casa Sperantei was founded in Brasov in 1992 in partnership with the Ellenor Foundation, a hospice charity in the U.K. Its aim was to develop specialist services for terminally ill patients and their families, which could then become models of care for other Romanian cities
